Transportation Nowadays

In Singapore, the transport system had been very smooth until recent years... over here, it is like... population boom. The picture below was taken after standing on the mrt platform after 7mins. 0830hrs.

Fitness!!!

Fittness!!

Just gotten from the net talking about the 17 cheap ways to increase the metabolism rate...

A healthy metabolism will keep you in shape and raise your energy levels, both of which are essential to smart money management. By staying healthy, you'll save money on health care costs while maintaining your ability to earn a living. Your metabolism - more specifically, your metabolic rate - is how quickly your body is burning calories. So if you're trying to lose weight, raising your metabolic rate means you'll see results faster.

You don't need fancy diets or expensive gym memberships to raise your metabolic rate. Here are 17 simple things you can do today to jumpstart your body.

[In Pictures: 8 Painless Ways to Save Money.]

1. Fidget. Tap your foot, twirl a pen, chew sugar-free gum while at your desk. Fidgeting uses energy, and while you won't be shedding inches instantly, the mini-aerobics on a daily basis adds up - highly fidgety people may burn up to 500 calories more in a day.

2. Stay properly hydrated. Studies have shown that when we are dehydrated, our systems slow down. That includes our metabolism. Aim for at least 8 cups of water a day. An easy way to keep track is to get a 32-oz (4 cups) water bottle, and drink two full bottles a day. If water is too boring for you, there are several natural ways to make water more flavorful.

3. Avoid diet soda. Water is king when it comes to hydration, but many people find it boring and look for alternatives like diet soda. But just because it has 0 calories doesn't mean it's as good as water. The problem is that the chemical sweeteners used in diet sodas can increase food and fat cravings, which can make sticking to a structured diet and seeing results much harder.

4. Drink cold drinks. Research subjects' metabolisms increased by a third in the 30-40 minutes after drinking a glass of water. The metabolic rate increase is due to your body warming up the liquid.

5. Spice up your meals. Spicy foods speed up the metabolic process by 20 percent or more for up to half an hour after eating them. Adding a dash of red pepper flakes to stews, pasta sauces, and other dishes is an easy way to turn up the heat and increase the burn.

6. Eat a balanced diet that includes "negative calorie" foods. Complex carbohydrates like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables fill you up and take effort for the body to break down. Some vegetables (like celery) and other complex carbohydrates (like high fiber foods) even require more calories to break them down than they contain, making them "negative calorie" foods.

7. Eat more protein. Studies have shown that the body uses twice the energy to break down foods containing protein as it does food that has a high carbohydrate or fat content. (See also: 10 Things to Do With Bargain Beef.)

[Visit the US News Personal Finance site for more insight and money management tips.]

8. Eat fish to store less fat. Eating salmon, tuna, and other fish lowers the levels of leptin in your body. Leptin tells your body how to store calories, and high levels of it trigger fat storage. Eat more fish, lower your leptin levels, and your metabolism triggers your body to store less fat.

9. Eat enough calories over the course of the day. Crash diets don't work. If you take in fewer calories than your basal metabolic rate (NYSE: BMR - News) - that is, the amount of calories your body needs when you're completely inactive - then your metabolism will slow down as your body goes into survival mode. So make sure you eat enough to keep your metabolism from stalling.

10. Don't skip breakfast. Eating breakfast is a signal to your metabolism that it's time to start working. Skipping breakfast for the sake of eating less throughout the day is counter-productive; not only does it keep your body in rest mode, but it also makes you hungrier throughout the day.

11. Eat consistently throughout the day. Eating introduces food into your system, which puts your metabolism to work converting that food to energy it can use. So constant snacking keeps your metabolism elevated throughout the day.

12. Plan ahead for meals and snacks. Eating smaller meals more frequently has the added benefit of keeping your energy level from spiking up or down, which helps you avoid hunger, stay more active, and avoid stress. Have a food plan for the whole day, so you're not tempted by the vending machine in the afternoon and have the energy to exercise after work.

13. Kick your workouts up a notch. When you're walking, wear a weight vest, or bring dumbbells and do curls along the way. Use fitness bands and other resistance gear to get your body to burn more energy in the same amount of time. Need to stay organized? Check out these 8 fitness and diet smart phone apps.

14. Focus on muscle at the gym. Building muscle will help you burn more calories even when you're not moving. While cardio exercise helps to burn fat, muscle building speeds up your metabolic rate for up to 2 hours after every 20-minute session. Better still: every pound of muscle in the body burns 35 calories per day rather than the 2 calories burned by a pound of fat.

15. Perk yourself up with some caffeine. Whether it's a cup of coffee in the morning or a cup of tea in the afternoon, a little bit of caffeine increases your metabolism in the short term. Just be aware that milk and sweeteners add calories, which can counter the metabolic benefits. Also beware of having too much caffeine, which may lead to energy crashes or fitful sleep. (See also: Cheapest Ways to Get Your Caffeine Fix.)

16. Dodge stress. Stress raises cortisol levels; cortisol is a hormone that can make you hungrier and slow down your metabolism.

17. Never underestimate the value of a good night's sleep. Like stress, though, lack of sleep can elevate levels of cortisol. If the risk of slowing your metabolism down isn't enough to motivate you to try for 8 hours of sleep, how about this -- when you sleep, your body produces a hormone that increases your metabolic rate.

Disgrace to Singapore

http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2010/08/05/sporeans-outraged-by-maid-abuse-case-but/

I really do not know why these kinda thing will happen in Singapore. Is our 'hao gong ming' (good citizen) module insufficient? Or Singaporean are under too much stress that sometimes we'll go 'gila'(crazy). My domestic helper and my family members are living quite closely bonded together but well, definitely there's some stuff which my family members do not wan me to reveal to the maid. Anyway, i even plan to go back to my maid's hometown with her. LOL! intially my mum rejected it. but well... ended up, she accepted the fact that i'm quite close with that maid. LOL! sometimes even secretly lend her my computer to chat wif her hubby.

Rubbish speech

http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2010/07/28/there-should-be-no-retirement-age-for-spore-mm-lee/

What a wonderful speech. LOL! Try reducing our Uncle Lee salary to 30k per annual and see whether he still wanna work at his age. Bloody hell... he got all the money in the world to seek medical help. Not everyone can do that.

Moreover, those ppl who are at the age of retirement had always been exploited by companies, SGD $3.50 - $4.50 per hour while those idiotic companies are earning so much more.

So many Singaporeans are so stupid

Singaporeans are always so damn stupid.

Take for instance the recent articles about dog abuse... if we complain the owner, that owner will get fine. When the owner fed up, either she'll be more violent to the dog or she will give the dog to spca. As time goes by, if no one adopt it, it'll be put to slp. Wont it be more cruel?

Same goes for ERP system. If ppl dun complain so much abt the traffic flow in town, there wont be erp. Does ERP help ALOT during peak hour in CBD AREA??? Everytime when i go to the CBD area during peak hour, it is still jam. Ended up we ppl who earn so little needa pay so much for going into ERP. Imagine a taxi ride to town from bedok cost me like $20+. Used to be only $10.

Thanks to people who complaint so much.

Relationship

Something is really wrong with my relationship. It is not something which i want. it is not something which i'd imagine myself to be in.

It is not a situation which i would advise my fren to be in. Some people may envy. some people may like it. But it is definitely not JAson's way of life.

I wanna get outta it but it seems that time had already locked me up.

Dream...

Sometimes... after study so much. I just felt that it is good to have a dream. What is a dream in this case then??? A dream of having 5 Cs (Cash, Car, Credit card, Condominium, and membership(s) of Country club) ? A dream of having a the richest and the most caring spouse? A dream of being a star? Well, for me I had none.
Ever since i was young, i studied aimlessly without knowing what I want and what I like. I am satisfied with almost everything I have now and i think it is more then enough. Is it too late for me to have a goal? Where can I start from?

My own perception: If one gains more, one will tends to ask for more.

Sick aGain

now it reaches the max of 40.1degrees celsius. It all started after my presentation on tuesday. then after which, i already know i got slight fever. then in the morning at ard 1am, it rose to 38.7 degrees. On Wednesday morning i tot i'm fine. thus i continue doing my own thing without seeking doctor.

At night, it rose to 40 degrees. Gotten no choice but to go to the nearest 24 hours clinic for help. 11.50am, i reaches blk 219's clinic. and guess how much is i had to pay? $104 ( midnight charge) So expensive. it's literally 杀人放火。 That's why i always tell my fren. If u live in Singapore, U can die, but u cannot fall sick.

After 3 dosage of medication, the fever still persist. thus i went down to CGH. They gave me a job and a set of new medicine in which the doctor claims that the medicine that the previous doctor gave me are weak. Most importantly, it cost only $80 (inclusive of the jab and medication).

Project FinisheD

Finally i can draw a line across the book and says that it is the end of my study Chapter. BA Hons in interior design is not even what i'd been dreaming of getting. life is such weirdo... but anyway, this video is compiled before the day of submission, from 12am - 6am. trial and error, etc etc... i'd literally forgotten all my video editing skill. :(

2 Weeks before exam

The feeling now is actually the calm before the storm. I jolly well know that I am definitely not prepared and not up to my own standard of submitting the final project. There are so many things need to be done.

Seriously I do not know why must the course emphasized so much on programming of the project instead of the design itself. 3 presentation altogether. and the first and second ones are all about program and left the third one for design. People like me who have been away from ID so long, I wont be able to explain well, do well in designing. especially when it comes to interior hazard and the sensitivity that an interior designer should be having.

By hook or by crook, this is the finaly push and hope i can do well in it. I just hope not to get an 'G'ero or an 'E'xcellent.

Feeling for today

Sick

So damn sad... having fever for 3days and it keeps fluctuating from 37.5 - 39.8. All those that I like are far away. Some don't even care. But luckily I got a few close friends around. Thanks Joseph for accompanying me. And with the Thought of Kelvin (cooking salmon for me) thank you so much.

I just don’t know why... but when I am at the stage of 38 degrees, I look like a normal person (not sick) but when it hits 39, I feel like fainting and all the symptoms like 'feeling hot and cold', wobbling legs, 'strengthless'all starts to appear. Wednesday is my exam. I really want to do well for it but I can’t concentrate with that 'stone' in my brain. :(

I WANNA GET 'A' for my Professional Practice Test... And next week is my formative assignment (20% of my Major project grade) if I’m down with either Dengue or HFM1, how am I going to present? :(

Too Late

Too Late

The day has come
When nothing will be right.
The past had not,
But done me any rights.
Years after years
It is finally here.
But the feelings i had,
Have all vanished in fear.
Coming out from a cocoon,
U soar up high.
Growing out from a seed,
I can only watch u fly.
Insomnia and depression,
Have haunted me every night.
Just because of that one promise
Tied me down from my rights.
Too high you had aimed?
Or too late to change?
Whatever it is,
It will never be the same.
